Mid Century Fiber App Tour

Do you take full advantage of all the things your Mid Century Fiber App can do? Here is a short rundown going over all the features it offers, and as always if you need help with anything streaming or smart home related you can contact us at 309-778-8611 or by emailing us at OneSource@midcentury.com

Did a family member gift you a smart home device that requires a 2.4Ghz network? Have you forgotten your wireless password, or have company over and want to create a guest network? "My Network" has got you covered, simply select "My Network" and all these options and more are available to you.

The Mid Century Fiber app notifies you whenever a new device connects to your home network, but maybe you want some more information than that. "Things" allows you to not only see what devices are connected but see how much data usage individual devices have used, pause the internet, and see their IP address.
"People" allows you to create profiles for people in your home, as a parent of three I have found this particularly useful for when our kids have homework assignments. It allows me to assign my children's electronics to their profile and be able to pause or limit the Wi-Fi for each individual that may be finding social media or video games too distracting.
"Places" like "People" gives you the ability to create profiles but based on the location of the device, and not to an individual.

Why are there flags in my yard?

One day you may be surprised to come home to colorful flags in your yard or even the grass spray painted. You don't remember calling 811, so what could this mean? More than likely one of your neighbors has called and requested JULIE ( Joint Utility Locating Information for Excavators.) , or a utility company is doing repairs and maintenance. That's right, even though the work may not be for your property, responsible do-it-yourselfers and companies want to make sure that no underground asset gets hit when the work gets underway on the properties next door. So, don't be alarmed if a locator shows up to your home one day to let you know that they'll be marking your yard. The alternative could add up to costly repairs or even injuries.  What is 811? "811 is the national call-before-you-dig phone number. Anyone who plans to dig should call 811 or go to their state 811 center’s website before digging to request that the approximate location of buried utilities be
