Alexa Together; how reliable internet can give you peace of mind

Alexa is Amazons personal assistant found in a variety of products in their Echo line, these devices connect to the internet and allow the owner to set reminders, provide weather forecasts and listen to their favorite music amongst other things. Today we’re highlighting a relatively new feature called Alexa Together which is aimed at providing around the clock monitoring and support to your loved ones.

Alexa Together is a subscription-based service at $19.99 a month that is currently free for the first six months with the ability to cancel anytime. All you need to get started is at least one Echo device in the home of the person receiving support while you, the supporting family member, will only need to have the Alexa app installed on your mobile device, although on their official page Amazon does recommend that two Echo devices will give the optimal experience. Each party will also need their own Amazon account which is free to set up.

Some highlights to what Alexa Together offers are customized alerts and reminders, 24/7 urgent response which can be activated with the simple phrase “Alexa, call for help.”, and a fall detection response that if triggered will automatically notify the emergency contacts you set up, in fact you can add up to 10 additional family members or friends with a feature called “Circle of Support”.  All these and more are available to help you check in with your loved ones anytime, from anywhere.

As always if you need help with anything streaming or smart home related you can contact us at 309-778-8611 or by emailing us at OneSource@midcentury.com
