ProtectIQ

With Mid Century’s newest wireless router comes a very effective and convenient app that has many great features which we have discussed in our latest blog titled, “Mid Century Fiber app”.  ProtectIQ and Experience IQ are both premium features within the app which can be subscribed to and enabled. This blog will entail what features you can access by adding ProtectIQ to your Mid Century CommandIQ  app.

The ProtectIQ feature is designed to activate malware and virus protection as well as help stop numerous types of threats and intrusions to your home network. Once ProtectIQ has been activated it will send you alerts and notifications about potential security threats as well as blocking them. This software requires no additional equipment and just needs to be enabled on your router. Protect IQ scans all the incoming network traffic data before it gets to your devices to weed out harmful data such as viruses and malware. This software also can keep some of your more vulnerable and less thought of devices protected such as smart TV’s, cameras, and thermostats which without protection, could have the potential to be flooded with threats, intrusions, and malware.  One nice feature of this program is that when ProtectIQ blocks one of these threats it will alert you through the Mid Century Fiber app in real time. It will allow you to see what device it may have occurred on, the URL, IP address, and when it was blocked. ProtectIQ also has a display for total threats it has blocked and organizes them into a very easy to read bar graph which can be selected to display either days or months.

Just like your homes' front door and security systems, you don’t want to leave your Wi-Fi unlocked and without security to monitor your homes network. You can add Protect IQ to your home network for just $4.00/mo. For more information on ProtectIQ and the Midcentury Fiber app, visit our website at midcentury.com or call us at 309-778-8611.
