Can I Record My Shows If I Switch To Streaming?









In todays fast paced world where we are always on the go, DVR’s have become a must for most TV lovers. Most TV viewers do not have the time to sit down and watch a show live as it airs, but with DVR’s that’s not a problem.  Traditionally you could only get a DVR through a cable provider, but with the increasing popularity in “cutting the cord” streaming services have added a cloud DVR to their packages, allowing us to save money and still be able to record and watch what we want, when we want.  Cloud DVR’s work the same way as traditional DVR’s, but instead of having a physical device in your home, everything gets saved online.



What streaming services have cloud DVR’s?

Right now, there are 5 main streaming services that we would recommend that offer a cloud DVR and offer a free trial, so give them a try and make sure they fit your recording needs.


  • Philo – Philo offers a 30-day unlimited cloud DVR that is included in its $20 package price.
  • Sling TV – Sling TV does not include DVR in their package pricing but you can add DVR for just $5 per month more. With that add-on you get 50 hours of cloud storage and it won’t ever delete, unless you go in and delete it yourself.
  • Hulu with Live TV – Hulu’s basic Live TV plan starts at $44.99 and comes with 50 hours of cloud storage.  There is no time limit on how long you can store your recordings.  If you need additional storage, for $15 per month you can upgrade your cloud DVR to 200 hours.
  • YouTube TV – If you record everything, then YouTube TV is the service for you. It has unlimited storage space with a 9-month storage time limit.  The best part is that it’s included in the $50 price for the service, so no extra add-on costs.
  • fuboTV – Last but not least is fuboTV. With their base package starting at $55, you get a 30-hour cloud DVR.  For the price the DVR is on the low side, but if you upgrade to the $60 package fubo upgrades your cloud DVR from 30 hours to 500 hours.

            Everyone online, at least once, has fallen for an image that has been edited. Detecting manipulated images is essential to verify authenticity and prevent misinformation.
