Back to School: Having All The Right Tools To Succeed

Back to School right tools

The weather is cooling, the alarms are set, and the textbooks are opening. As we prepare to go back to school, the internet now offers hundreds of helpful resources for kids, teens, and college students to be successful and make the most of their learning experiences. Here are some helpful links and resources that we’ve found that are sure to help students succeed and learn online!

Organization
Today, there are hundreds of resources online that can help not only students, but also adults stay organized with their information and schedules to utilize their time efficiently. Google Calendar is the most common calendar application used, along with organizational charts from SmartDraw that are extremely helpful. Another great resource to use is called Padlet, which acts in a way for students to personalize and organize their notes in an aesthetically pleasing manner.

Infographic Creation
Because we live in the digital age, the ability to create a visual that is stimulating and eye-catching has become a necessary skill. The ability to design graphics and implement them into presentations, papers, and project will not only impress teachers, but give students the opportunity to prepare the ever-changing digital world.  Fortunately, you don’t need to be an artist or designer to create simple, yet effective graphics. Some of the best photo editor sites are Ipiccy and PicMonkey, in which you can easily edit photos and add stickers or text to the photo. Canva is a great resource, filled with free templates, text, and images to create fun and informational graphics.

Video Creation
While it is not a necessary skill, the ability to create videos could change the game when it comes to presentations and projects. WeVideo is a great resource to utilize, making video editing easy, breezy. It covers all the basics of narrations and themes to effects and transitions. Editing videos is a new, valuable skill to teach our children, as videos are now extremely popular and being utilized by businesses of all sizes. While students are creating videos to earn those good grades, they’re also teaching themselves life skills that will add to their resumes as they get older.
